Burned Toast

No, this post has nothing to do with burned toast. It is just that I burned toast yesterday morning (when I was originally going to write this, but then Emma had other plans) and my house smelled like it all day.

But anywho...the link to my resume finally works! Yay! Click here to check it out.

So unless you have been living under a rock, I am sure you have heard about the Sotomayor confirmation hearings. I am not going to get into the politics of it; instead, I am going to share Emma's opinion on it all.

Yesterday I was reading the newspaper while she was eating breakfast, and this picture was on the front page:

Emma got all excited and said:

"Look! She is 5 years old just like I am 5 years old!"

And there you have it. Why look for all the ways we are different? We should all be like children and find the simple ways in which we are all the same. Then work from there.

And here is a new dish we had last night....

Try it out this weekend, you'll like it.

PS - If you haven't noticed, there is a new button on my sidebar that looks like this:

Virus Stompers!
Virus Stompers

Not, it isn't a virus, it is a my bloggy friend Jeff's (aka View from the Cloud) new virus removal business.

You see, at the beginning of the summer he and all of his coworkers had to take a rather significant pay cut, and so he and his son formed a business that they can do from their home. Something that will potentially bring in a little money to offset what is no longer there. He has asked his readers to please consider advertising his business on their blogs, and so of course I will.

And I wish him much success.

The chicken looks good. I think I need a snack.

It would be nice if life were simple again!

Thank you Jacki! It looks like your generosity did not go unrewarded. Stop on over to my place to see what you've won. :-)

I just love Emma's thinking! And I agree with you that sometimes we need to think more like the innocence of children.

These confirmation hearings seem like they take 5 years to complete. I can still remember the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings.

If I hear anybody start talking about pubic hairs on Coke cans, I'm cancelling my cable subscription.

You always distract my thoughts with food... so hungry!

I think it's a great idea on Jeff's part! Especially since so many people have virus issues.

The dinner you made looks great! I would love to try it, but I don't think my husband would eat it. He is kind of a picky eater.

I love the way kids just get on with life and with everyone... they don't stop to see the differences, as you say. They look for the common ground between us.

I read!
