Jacki
...makes me a dull blogger.

But you know what, I'm going to change that. I miss talking to you, all 15 of you. And believe me, after spending 8 or more hours a day writing and editing technical documents, I need the creative outlet.

So let me see....

I can't talk about work or the people I work with. I can say I am having fun, but that is about it.

Emma got to come to work with me for a few hours the other day. There was a terrible accident (a car had plowed into a jersey wall on the highway and flipped over), so instead of having Peter sit in traffic for an additional hour just to get her to her preschool, I had him drop her off with me. (I had left for work an hour before he did). I took her to school after traffic had cleared. She sat at my desk, ate her breakfast and colored several pictures for me. The best part for her was being able to wear a badge just like mom.

She's hit and miss with preschool. She will cry when we first drop her off, but then when we pick her up she talks non-stop about what she did and learned. Oh, and she has two girlfriends whom she refers to as her "girls." She tells us what they wore each day. She's so clothes conscious.

And then yesterday I ran across a video online that is both disturbing yet a little entertaining at the same time. It is a French commercial for Orangina, a carbonated citrus beverage sold in the US and Europe. Apparently in France Orangina is known for their outrageous commercials.

And this is no acception. I watched it twice and I really don't know what disturbs me the most. The very human-like and very anatomically correct features of the animals or the very porn-ish behavior the animals are exhibiting (lap dances for one).

Or maybe I am disturbed by the fact that the octopus-women have bigger boobs (octo-tits!) than me.

I don't know. How about you watch it and let me know what you think is most disturbing or entertaining.

    We miss you too!

"She's so clothes conscious." Haha, you're raising a monster. Just think how costly that'll be in 10 years! You better start a clothing savings fund now!

Now that is just weird! Makes me not want to take a walk in the woods. There are soooo many suggestive things in that commercial, it would never make on TV here in the states.

I think I'm just disturbed by the name Orangina. It's like a cross between a vagina and an orange.

  4. Memarie Lane Says:

Definitely that bit at the end where one of the animals' (Panda) breasts turn orange and explode.

  5. witchypoo Says:

    I'm with Nikki.

  6. Annikke Says:

Ok...that ad was just plain wierd, so I think I will just comment on how cute that your daughter calls her friends her girls! That is adorable!

The exploding boobs is gonna give me nightmares! Ha

I wonder if they play that commercial during the day? I would probably feel very awkward watching it with my children. It's a bit disturbing, espcially since there are very few male animals in the commercial. It would make a great beer commercial for after hours here.

I also agree with Marie on the panda's breasts squirting the juice or whatever out of them.

  8. i'm glad to know emma has found friends. has she scheduled slumber party with her girls yet?

the commercial makes me want to go wild ...

  9. MamaGeek Says:

Yeah, we DO miss you. I ADORE that she has 'her girls'. HA!

Funny video. What, was it produced by Freud himself?

  11. I'm glad you're coming back. I understand not mentioning anything about work but good things. We had a convo today in a meeting about blogs, and one of the guys looked up my blog. It just makes me realize how easy it is to find people and their blogs, especially if their technical people.

  12. yeah work has been interesting lately and busy... soo the blogging hasn't been as much as usual :-(

Ohh and Emma has a third and possibly fourth in her gang of girls. Some of them come up to greet me in the morning when dropping her off.

"just" dropping her off isn't too easy on a dad with dads little girl. But having a software release coming up I am not sure about getting things "done" on time so a couple of days I drop off and mom picks up.

Can't wait for the weekend to start... and it's a three day one too :-)

You have to admit it is pretty though. Even if it does make no sense and the "Flashdance" reference is quite dated. The nerve of all that horny fauna.
And they say that we in the states are obsessed with sex.

Now I've got that stupid "Blood Hound Gang" song stuck in my head. Thanks a lot!

  14. Sornie Says:

Of COURSE octo-women have big boobs. In their society, plastic surgery is covered under their all-encompassing medical plan.

  15. VE Says:

Really, you can't talk about work? Is it like..super secret? Anything I can sell to Iran? No quirky employees to rant about? Where's the fun? The important thing to assess is how closely your work environment fits the the movie Office Space.

Ronnica: Oh yes, she loves clothes.

Karen: Nope, that would not make it past the FCC.

Nikki/Witchypoo: I thought the exact same thing!

Marie/Stephanie: Yeah, that was a little too graphic.

Annikke: I think she gets it from me, I am always calling her "my girl."

Charlotte: I think it's not the commercial making you feel wild...it's your lack of sleeping with your husband. ;-)

    Jeff: I think so.

Peter: I am looking forward to sleeping past 5:00am!!

    Jason: No problem!

    Sornie: Of course!

VE: Nope, I had to sign papers stating the government could throw me in jail for 25+ years if I talked about what I do, or sold their secrets. So I'll stick to neutral topics.

    I'm disturbed. Seriously.....for real?

Love that she has her "girls". You've been missed. I always know I can turn to you for intelligent posts....not that others one's are not.....but I like your style! :)

  18. Bee Says:

You can't talk about work?? :o(

    That video is DI-STUR-BING!! Hubs came over right when the octopus thing squeezed her boobs... (:o{
