This weekend my mom turns 50 (geez, I am getting old!) and I need your help.
You see, she is discouraged. The only reason she was looking forward to her birthday is that her brother and his girlfriend were going to come down and help celebrate. But two events have now prevented at. Our Aunt's (they've been together so long, we just call her Aunt) father's health has taken a drastic turn for the worst and Sunday night she was in a car accident and totalled their car. She's okay, but now they have no car.
My mom was really looking forward to the visit, because my Uncle's health is not very good these days (he has AIDS and advanced-stage lung cancer) and so we never know when the last time is we will see him. Both of her parents have passed away, and none of her other siblings are able to visit. Even though she understands completely why my Aunt wants to be with her Dad, I know in her mind she is thinking "well this
So this is where you come in. I was thinking (a bad habit, I know) it would be really cool if I could get 50 people to send her a birthday card. I am sure between all of us we can come up with 50 people (like, if you mention this on your blog, please).
