Jacki

Every time I read one of those National Geographic Travel magazines, I get a little envious of the writers, who get paid to travel to exotic and far-away places. I start thinking back to the two years before I got married and had Emma....when I racked up 60,000 bonus points on my United Airlines Frequent Flyer card between traveling for work and traveling for pleasure.

And now my passport sits, gathering dust.

Sigh....

Then I let myself daydream a bit about where I would go if I had a lot of money and time to travel. Where would I even start? Down south, to see the ancient Inca ruins? Down Under, to Australia? Far away, to India? An African safari? A month-long train ride through Europe? Sunning myself on the French Riviera? Mingling with my peeps in Italy?

And not to forget the things here in the good Ol' USA....the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, whale-watching in Alaska.

The possibilities are endless.

So let me ask, if you had the opportunity to go on a trip around the world, and money were no object, where would you?

  1. I'm here from An Island Life. I love this post... Hmm... I think I would tour Europe with the family. I want the children to see all the history and art that I got to see when I was a kid growing up over there. I also want them to experience the FOOD!!!

Ahhh... to be wealthy and have no money issues and to be able to do that... Alas, I'm back to reality - which I like just fine!

There would be so many places I would love to visit. However, if I could only choose one it would be Australia.

I came to visit from An Island life.

oooh wow! if money were no object I would definately have to go see Europe...always wanted to go...and I have to see me some tropical islands...I'm a warm weather kind of gal, so just sailing around the islands sound perfect to me (now watch me get sea sick! LOL!)

  5. I would love to go to Vatican City, Florence (Italy) and Hiroshima (Japan) ... one day!

Definitely to Italy. GB & I both would love to eat authentic Italian food and see the villas and vineyards and maybe go on one of those gondola rides. The beach would be nice too. I know it won't work right now with small kiddos, but eventually... I'm even afraid to go to Disneyland with them at this point.

Oh wow, this could be a very long list. I LOVE to travel and have a huge interest in history, so there are several places I want to go. I also have several friends overseas that I would like to go visit.

If I could go anywhere/everywhere, the list would definitely include:
Scotland, Turkey, and Cambodia to visit friends
a European tour: London, Paris, Rome, Athens, etc.
Japan, China, and South America because I've studied those places in class
    Australia (just cuz)
and anywhere with a great beach

I'm honestly not interested in travel. I've been all over the US and to a couple of places in Mexico. If I had loads of money I might go to NYC and spend a week just trying out different restaurants, and I've always wanted to go up in the statue of liberty. But I'm quite happy just sitting at home.

I think I might like going to New Zealand. The scenery there is really beautiful, especially the south island. A trip there during summer/spring would be just perfect, I think.

    Jacki,
Thanks for visiting my blog. Project Noah is a simple weekly activity to build up food and supplies to have on hand in case of an emergency. It can be for a natural disaster, an illness or the loss of a job. When we were living in Florida, our emergency supplies were a necessity after hurricane Wilma hit.

Now, if I could travel with unlimited funds, I would take a year or two and meander all over the globe. When possible I would fly the kids and grand babies to where ever and meet up with them. I adore travel and love to soak up culture from different countries.
I will admit though, the grand USA is my favorite place to travel. We have it all and it would take ten lifetimes to see it all.
